Diode Pumped Lasers |
| |
| |
Diode-pumped lasers have gained popularity with today's manufacturers and are an attractive alternative to lamp-pumped laser markers. While similar in construction to a lamp-pumped system, the diode laser uses a diode pack to "pump" or energize the crystal. Unlike the "white" light produced by the Krypton lamp, the diodes produce a wavelength optimal to the YAG crystal. Thus, the diodes use less energy to generate the same relative power output. Because of the increased efficiency, less heat is generated so an external chiller is not required. |

Additional Benefits |
| |
- Reduced Maintenance- Most diode lasers need servicing only once a year.
- Fewer Consumables- Diode packs last thousands of hours longer than Krypton lamps.
- Smaller Footprint- Compact design and internal chiller occupy less floor space.
- Smaller Beam Diameter- Improved beam energy density for improved marking.
