How to improve the quality of Laser Welding

The first point of improving laser welding quality doesn’t have to do with the laser itself. It instead has to do with workpiece material conformity. Without a high-quality workpiece, the welding result will not be of high quality. This is even if you set your parameters perfectly.

The two quality indicators of laser welding process quality are the welding seam width and the welding depth. The best post-process quality tests are the mechanical properties stress-strain curve test and the salt spray anti-corrosion test.

Tip 1: select the right laser type for your desired processing result. Single mode lasers produce smaller seams and larger welding depth.

Tip 2: Adjust the power density to achieve your desired process result. Higher power density produces a smaller seam and larger welding depth.
